{weekend project}

I've been busy decorating my bedroom and I'm loving it! It's a slow process, but I'll share my progress as it happens!

I have a lot of jewelry that I used to hang on a cork board with push pins, but when I was decorating the hubs office, I decided to put the cork board in there, thus leaving my jewelry to sit in an orange bucket until I found another place for it.

I knew I wanted to hang my jewelry again (it's so much easier to see and pick from when it's displayed right in front of you) but I wasn't sure how I was going to do it...until I got my issue of Better Homes & Gardens and was totally inspired!
I made my own framed jewelry holder by painting an old, decorative frame with Krylon Bahama Sea spray paint. Then I picked up a sheet of clover leaf radiator grill from the Home Depot (you can find the link to different grill styles HERE). After cutting it out with my tin snips, I used push points (you can find in the framing section of the craft store) to hold the grill in place, and here is the result! I love it!

Ok, I'm pretty much in love with that idea! I've seen screen or chicken mesh used before, but this is just so fancy looking! Is that stuff cheap?

my husband was sitting next to me while i was looking at this and i just kept oohing and aaahing in my head. i thought "this chick is a GENIUS!! radiator grill!" apparently it wasn't so much of an inside thought as it was an out loud exclamation- a little louder than the volume normal people talk. :) Anyway, i LOVE this idea!! LOVE IT! I need about 10 of them to hold my jewelry. I think I'm going to try making some. Thanks for the great idea. I've not seen them done with radiator grills, just chicken wire. This looks much more dainty.

That is adorable! And, funny but I just bought Krylon Bahama Sea a few weeks ago to paint a bird cage with it. I think it is the most beautiful color! Glad to see someone with such good taste likes it too :)

I couldn't find the radiator grill at the home depot in Provo, and nobody knew what I was talking about. Which home depot did you go to and what section/area did you get it at?

I really really want to make one of those!!!

I love this cute, little, and simple project, but im havning a hard time finding the Radiator Grill. I have been to Home Depto in Ogden and they have no clue what im talking about even tho i even showed them a pic. And because im havning such a hard time finding one it has been very tempting to go find a condemended home in central Ogden and look around to see if their is one in the house!!! Please e-mail me if you have any ideas on where else i could find the grill so that i don't have to go truspassing to get one!!! thanks

OK, so I totally needed this post a bit ago... when my jewelry box was stolen, then returned to me totally damaged. I couldn't find a good new jewelry box, so I settled for one that I don't love. I think I'm returning it! And I'm making one like yours!!! SO SO cute! Love it! Thanks for sharing your endless design ideas!

Oh my gosh! I have been complaining my jewelry organizer, or lack there of, for months to my boyfriend. THIS IS THE BEST SOLUTION. I just love it, it doesn't look like a giant mess like jewelry trees do, and you dont have to dig through drawers like other organizers. This is just perfect, looks like a piece of artwork on its own!

I am dying over how darling this is!!! Hi! I found you from Shellie's blog and am thrilled to find other crafty gals here in SLC! Seriously that NEVER happens to me. I end up meeting the ones in Provo, Ogden or St. George!! Don't ask ha!

I shall have to replicate this and see how crafty I really am! Thanks for the idea!

So I'm not sure how but somehow I stumbled upon your blog. I love it!! I desperately want to make this jewelry holder. But I have a few questions. First of all, I went to Home Depot to get Radiator grill and they had no idea what I was talking about. Any ideas where I can buy it? I saw some sites online but the minimum orders were about $50. Also- how are you hooking your jewelry so that it stays?
